| June 25, 2002 I am
writing this to honor the man I love. He doesn't know I'm doing this yet. And it may seem
strange to some who haven't known us very long.
But I love my husband.
This coming November marks thirty years of marriage for us! Thirty years
of 'Mike and Cheryl.' Mike loved me when the church world didn't. He took me as his wife
when popular opinion was against it. As a pastor, he loved me and stood by me when
modern-day Pharisees said he would be better off without me.
He loved me when the religious church world didn't. He still does. And
they still don't.
The month of June marks twenty-five years of full-time ministry for Mike
and me. (We were ordained by Dave Roberson in 1977.) Mike is a faithful, unwavering man of
God. He's the same at home as he is at church. He's not a hypocrite. He's not a controller
of people. He's a lover of people. He gives and gives, even when there's no more to give.
His own sons can attest to that.
His life is a quest to walk with God and follow the Holy Spirit. And I
can tell you, this man has supernatural dreams and visions. He walks as a prophet among
us. But he doesn't exploit it. He just humbly follows God and invites the rest of us to
share the journey. He's the most Christ-like man I know.
Over the years, my own heart has been broken by the way some people have
treated Mike. Many don't recognize his heart and anointing. They don't see the hours he
spends on his knees, praying to God on their behalf. But God does.
This letter may seem a bit unorthodox, but I guess that's part of what
'Mike and Cheryl' are known for. I have been earnestly seeking the Lord with this request:
"Heavenly Father, please honor my husband. Earnestly remember Mike Thompson
according to Your good Word and Your promise to us."
So here's my open, candid letter to you. If you feel the Spirit moving
you to do so, would you "honor" Mike with an offering? Maybe $25, if you can. Or
more if you're led to do so. Would you surprise him? That's why I put an envelope in this
flyer.
But most importantly, would you open your eyes and your heart; and
receive and appreciate this prophet who walks among us? Thank you for your time and
respect.
Sincerely yours in Christ's service,
Cheryl

will receive a prophet's reward

It's not too late to
participate in Mike's Anniversary offering. He's still receiving surprises in the mail.
(And he's still surprised!)
